The original painting for Jason Isbell's 2010 record "Here We Rest". I used the same techniques as on the first record, distressed india ink on wood. To mirror some of the themes on the record, I painted a civil war allegory. The top bird is a Wood Thrush, the bottom is a Yellowhammer. The two are fighting over a ribbon.
